Nothing Ever Tasted So Good...

This evening, The Breadwinner came home while I was feeding my kids grilled cheese sandwiches a gourmet meal that included all four food groups (bread, cheese, chicken, and Munchos Chips--potatoes are vegetables, duh!). So, I sat down, with a glass of wine in front of my computer and proceeded to read my daily blog feeds.

When my kids were done, I took them out of their seats and they were off. A few minutes later, while I was reading about Butrfly's run in with the law and drinking my wine (instead of hearing WHINE for a change), I heard the Princess grunting while she was sqeezing out little turds into the toilet. I thought nothing of it until...

I heard splashing.

I ran to the bathroom and found Jr. Peanut playing with the toilet water while The Princess was hiding by the sink.

To my horror, I noticed that The Princess had failed to flush her poop away. Jr. Peanut was sucking on the toilet paper he found in the toilet water and splashing away.

I mean really...what kind of princess forgets to flush the toilet? I guess an almost four year old one does. And where the heck was the Breadwinner?

I suppose I can legitimately get googled for baby eats poop or to be more precise, "baby drinks poop water".

He seems OK but I may need to call the pediatrician tomorrow--just in case.

Ok, now that's just funny. I'm sure it wasn't at the time though.
My son did the same thing. He was 9 months old and I was just getting him and his sister ready for their 9 mo. checkup.
I layed him down on the bed and then went to grab a diaper.
When I cam back I noticed he was chewing on something.
I looked in his mouth and thought Where on earth did the baby get chocolate. So I scooped it out and didn't think twice about it. Until I smelled it.
Uhh yuck. I cleaned my hands and his mouth throughoughly!
Anyhoo, the doctor laughed good naturedly and said "Every kid does it...he'll be fine"
So I suspect Jr. Peanut will be too :)

Oh, no!!! I feel for ya, hon, I REALLY do! I dont' have the stomach for stuff like that!

Sunshine had a thing for the toilet, but mostly just playing in the water...I dont' think it was ever "full."

However, she NEVER flushes and 'round the house she actually goes by Princess Chipeater, so I think it's fairly common for young princesses to forget. Once we get their bathroom decorated, I'm going to make a little fishy thing to remind them. They have their *own* bathroom, so it can get to be a long time before someone realizes it hasn't been flushed. Ew.

I'm just JrP will be fine. I hope. Yeah, I'm sure.

Between the preschool ceremony the other day and this, you've had quite a week! I feel for you...but hopefully no harm done, although calling the pediatrician is probably a good move.

And yeah, one day you'll look back on this and laugh - and save it for the "embarrassing moments" file we all keep on our kids :-).

Ew. And ha - but only because it wasn't my kid. You poor thing. I'm sure he'll be fine, but yeah, you'll feel better after a call to the ped.

I think I just threw up a little bit in my mouth....
Thankfully, that hasn't happened here (yet!) In the Trenches. But I don't want to jinx myself...
