It's Not You, It's me

October was kind of a hectic month for me. My family and I had a lot of things to do. Then there were the fires (I totally thought they were going to hit here--they hit here 4 years ago). We were lucky this year and so were our family members and friends. I did however, lose a lot of sleep over it. I worry a lot (like my brother) that's why I have all these gray hairs (my sister, who is 8 years my senior, only has like 1). At any rate, I digress.

While I've been "away", I've accumulated 643 unread posts. Luckily, 225 of them are announcements of the new DVDs that have come out, but um, the rest are real posts. I actually split my reader into groups:

  • Craig's List
  • Entertainment
  • Food
  • Friends
  • Geeky
  • Occasional Reads

I'm purging everything except friends. I'm going through them one by one this week, so give me some time (it leaves me with 184 posts to read). I thought about purging the friends one too, but then I thought I'd be missing something. I would hate to miss out on all your lives!!! Thanks for hanging in there with me. Just remember, it's not you . . . it's me!

And just so you know how "busy" I've been -- I've only read ONE book in the pas 2 months. That's a record low for me. :-) BTW, tell me about this Shelfari thing, it intrigues me. I've been invited by Jackie & Janet, but I haven't signed up yet (I'm lazy).

Don't worry, hon. I'm taking a couple weeks off due to work. (And I'm TRYING to stay caught up on reading.)

I miss your posts (and your comments!), but I totally understand and will never hold it against you!

Always glad to have you back!

I'm enjoying Shelfari - it kind of gives you an idea of what like-minded people are reading. I haven't had as much time as I would like to check it out, or read for that matter, but hopefully in the near future... You should check it out though!

I'm on Shelfari but much like Cre8buzz I'm really rather half assed about it. I don't use them like they're supposed to be used. Sorry I'm not much help there.

That seems to be the trend. Everyone is much busier/not blogging as much these days. Crazy when life takes precedence over blogging ;)

I've done the same thing...It feels good to purge most of the crap out there doesn't it???

really glad to have you back and to know that the fires didn't get you... But you are more loyal than I. I'd just comment on recent posts, apologize and ask if you missed anything major... That is how I function :)

The one book you read wasn't A Thousand Splendid Suns for Book Club this Friday, was it? :-) Welcome back! Life does get in the way sometimes, doesn't it?

I know you already read a coupla my posts, but you don't have to. My drivel is rarely noteworthy, and if something big happens, you'll find out eventually.
:)

If I went a few weeks from reading blogs I would just have to start over from scratch. I don't think I would even try to catch up- kudos to you, my dear!

I am a Goodreads member, which is the same as Shelfari I think, and can't find time to keep up with it. You basically list books you read and write reviews for them. You get "friends" and learn about other books this way, or you start discussions about books you have in common.
It's kind of fun.
